I used to love the old zombie survival gamemode, the one where every 5 kills you unlocked a new weapon. You start out with either a peashooter or 2 other pistols (based on randomness), and then at 5 kills you unlock the glock. 10 kills you unlock another, and so on. At 25 kills you get the aegis (the barricader).
This was my favourite one, some of the maps were amazing too and worked so well with it. The new one isn't much fun to me and I don't really like the shop or the fact you get to 'choose' what you get. The older version seemed to rely more on base building or being clever with where you hid, and the later rounds felt so more dangerous when the big 'tanky' poison zombies and the chem zombies were finally unlocked. Zs_Fort and Zs_hospital are just two I can think of that were amazing
The community and servers that I used to play it on were RnD ( .:`=-~rANdOm~`-=:. Game Servers ), but I think other servers also had the same gamemode version. I'm trying to find this again so I can play it (or even make a server myself for it!).

Zombie Survival is a wave based survival game where human controlled zombies attack survivors during the wave, usually the games lasts six waves. At the beginning of the wave a proportional number of humans will become zombies. Every time a human dies they join the zombie team. The only way to become a human again is to kill 4 humans. The zombie with the most damage done to humans added with ten percent damage to cades will become the boss zombie, a high power zombie. Humans can buy weapons ammunition and tools with points they earn through damaging zombies, repairing props with a hammer, healing other players, having players use your resupply crate and having players buy from your arsenal crate.
The waves last from 3 to five minutes increasing the later the wave. each wave has an intermission lasting 90 seconds. Every wave except for the 6th wave the zombies will get new zombie types to use against the humans.

Buying
The shop menu will open as soon as you spawn as a human. DON’T CLOSE IT. Some servers do allow you to reopen the worth menu with the f2 key before the round begins. To buy what you want you must select each item and then press the “Checkout button.” Another method of buying is to save favorites. To save a favorite select all the items you want and returning to the favorites tab. There you press the “save ” button. You can get from the worth menu from the point shop by pressing the button in the top left.
Important roles
- Cader: Builds the barricade, often repairs and acts as a leader to the rest of the survivors.
- Repairmen: Vital survivors who keep the props healthy and often have weapons in addition to their hammers.
- Medics: Personnel who heal injured survivors with medkits they buy before the round begins.
- Defenders: Survivors with guns or melee weapons who often fulfil other roles within the team including bringing arsenal crates, medical kits, resupplies, and hammers.
- Arsenal: Crate that is used to buy supplies. Extremely necessary for survival.
- Resupply: Crate that can be used every two minutes to give you a box of ammunition.
Important Tips
- Backing up and shooting is a bad idea. The zombies can move faster than you when you back up.
- Strafing is a very important tactic to avoid zombie attacks. If you can keep your reticle on the zombies head as you strafe it becomes a very powerful tactic if you have a pistol or smg.
- Shotguns are best used when they are used like a melee weapon. Get in close and do tons of damage then back off.
- Being a medic is one of the easiest ways to get points early game.
- Being a repairer is one of the easiest ways to get points late game.
